A sixteen year old girl named Nora Grey from Coldwater, Maine, lives with her mom in a farmhouse located just outside the town. Her dad was murdered in Portland the year before. Since her dad's death she feels like she's being watched. She thinks she should feel protected, but she really doesn't. She doesn't have a problem with school, until she meets Patch and Elliot. Patch is special and he protects her from anything bad that happens or that can happen to her. She finds out something about herself she never knew before, and she finds out as to why Patch is always trying to protect her from harm.
