In the book, Fransico and his family, including his mother, father, and his brothers Roberto and Trampita are on their way to cross the border and start a new life in California. When they thought California was going to be an amazing place, it turns into spending the next years moving around a lot and looking for work to do. Life isn't easy for Fransico and his family. Will life ever get better for Fransico and his family?

I think anyone who like reading about biographies and wanting to get to experience what the people went through, are likely to enjoy this book. I think those who like reading about how life back in the days would probably enjoy this book as well.

I say those who tend to get sad or emotional easily wouldn't enjoy this book. One thing I'll say is that this book is emotional and somewhat sad. Sorry to those who get really emotional, this book might not be the right one or you.
