A story of love and courage. Despereaux is a mouse destined for something. With rats and darkness as an enemy, this young brave knight must make his adventure happen whether he dies trying or makes it to his princess. His enemy, a rat, uses his skill of darkness and persuasion to convince others to help him in returning to the world of light permanently.
This book was not meant to be a hard, challenging read. A tall tale and a fable in one making this book pointed to a younger audience. This doesn't mean you shouldn't read it if you haven't though.
