The Big Field is about a kid named Keith Hutchison, also known as Hutch.  Baseball is everything for Hutch.  His favorite baseball player is A-rod.  Baseball is also in Hutch's blood too.  His father went from being in a little town, to going to the Pros.  Hutch loves playing shortstop.  He likes to think that he is the captain of his team, which he is.  That was until the best shortstop prospect came to his team, Daryl "D-Wills" Williams.  Hutch got moved to second base and he was furious.  Hutch thought that being on second base was a demotion for the team.

I would recommend this book for people who love sports, baseball, or to people who love to see the main character overcome adversity.
